Doughdishes for sale

LILLIPUT, hull number 1481, is one of the original Herreshoff 12 ½ built at the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, and she still maintains her original builders plate. She is a Marconi rig with mahogany trim. She was built in 1939 with the standard cedar planking over oak frames. Over the last couple of years has had some stuctural and quite a bit of cosmetic work done at Ballentine's Boat Shop.

Stucturally she has had some bottom work done including some refastening, caulking, filling and fairing. The bilge has been painted with Red Led and the bottom has been finished with an ablative bottom paint.

The boat has already had the yearly maintenance done so the varnish has 2 fresh coats and the topsides and bottom have been painted. The spars have not yet recieved their 2 yearly coats.

LILLIPUT also has new cockpit and jib covers and a top of the line float off Triad trailer (valued at over $3500).

LILLIPUT is in very good shape and is well appointed.

I have not seen this boat, but it is reportedly in solid working condition. The varnish and maintenance has been done for this year. There does seem to be a crack in the coaming, but that can be pinned and solidified easily. The sails are original so they will probably want to be replaced in the near future, but could probably serve as working sails for a little while. It has a trailer also from the early 80's and a long shaft outboard for auxiliary power.

For those of you who are on the West Coast, there is a Doughdish available in Oregon.  She has been lightly used and trailer sailed in a lake for the past few years. This is an excellent value for this boat.

DD 476 has been lightly used. Her varnish will need some touch ups and an extra coat or two, but this boat will look very clean with minimal attention. She comes with standard equipment as well as: a Triad Trailer and cockpit cover. This is a nice value.

This 1995 Doughdish is in solid condition.  The varnish is sealed but could benefit from cosmetic upgrades.  The Sails are original and may be usable for another season or two but would not be appropriate for competitive racing.  There is a Spinnaker and spinnaker pole, neither of which have been used.  There are two cracks in the coamings that should be pinned at some point.  It does come with a new cockpit cover and it is equipped with a swivel cam cleat on the aft deck for the main sheet.  Rig and rigging seem to be in good condition.  This boat does not come with a trailer but does have a cradle.  If a new trailer is needed, one can be ordered from Triad for $2900.

This is a new arrival to Ballentine's Boat Shop. She is in very good shape. She will need only the regular pre-launch varnish and maintenance. DD 486 has been consistently maintained and sailed lightly. She comes equipped with standard equipment as well as: a Triad Trailer, a spinnaker with pole and cockpit cover.

This Doughdish is the original of this line, she is actually named DOUGHDISH and owned by the owner of Doughdish, inc.  She has been very well maintained at Ballentine's for many years. She is in very good condition, has a set of brand new sails and a trailer.  She is currently in indoor storage at Ballentine's and available for viewing with an appointment.

SNOW GOOSE is listed by Concordia, please let them know you found it on this website. I have not yet seen this boat, but it is in indoor storage and is reportedly in good condition. It comes with a trailer and a 2hp outboard.

MAN O WAR, hull number 866, is the 42nd Herreshoff 12 ½ built at the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company.  She was built in 1921 and has been sailed on Buzzards Bay through 3 owners.   She still maintains her original builders plaque.

This Doughdish is in new condition, it was bought 10 years ago but never used.  It was stored in a garage until this year.  It is well equipped with unused sails, including a spinnaker, cockpit and jib cover. Her teak trim was stripped and is being refinished with varnish.  A Custom Triad Trailer is also available for an additional $2000 and an outboard motor for an additional $1000.  A new boat with these offerings would be over $44,000, this is an exceptional value.
